Don’t judge a book by its cover. The same goes for music. Really sad that Amy Winehouse isn’t here anymore. 😦 And I’m disappointed that I only go to know her songs when she went already. Wish I could’ve discovered her sooner. Really heartbreaking to see an amazing singer with a wonderful talent gone from this world.

Her songs were so soulful, as if it’s alive. You can hear her voice and her message comin’ through you, and the lyrics weren’t written in a trashy way compared to some music today (not giving any names here). They were inspiring and are true works of poetic music.

Before her posthumous album came out, it was just Frank and Back to Black, though the latter was more famous than the former. But both were gems that deserved more fame. Each song has its own story and own perspectives on the neverending events of love. What attracted me was not just the sound of the music but also the lyrics which spoke a tale of its own each time I listen to it.

Dear Amy,

You will be missed, definitely, but you don’t have to worry, because your music will always be in our hearts. You may not be here anymore, but we can still hear your beautiful voice through your soulful music which no other person could do a better job than you. Well done, Amy. I hope that others would also come to notice and love your songs as much as I do, not just the sound but also the lyrics which were written from your soul. Amazing.
